A Poetic Journey of the Black Male's Experience
This documentary is about the loss of identity and its negative systemic impact on individuals across the world. Behind The Documentary

Picture

Villanova, PA

As students of Villanova University, we are committed to the pursuit of truth, unity, and love. We incorporate these values both inside and outside of the classroom, seeking them everywhere we go. As filmmakers, we seek to incorporate these values in the way we tell the stories of others.

West Philadelphia, PA

Philadelphia served as the capital of the United States during the slave trade which has altered the experiences of African Americans and Africans throughout history and today. Philadelphia’s pivotal role in the founding of the United States perpetuated slavery by refusing to address it in the Constitution.

Ghana

Africa is the origin of slavery. Cape Coast, Ghana is specifically significant because it marks the beginning of a slave’s journey to slavery. We are going to Ghana to examine the history, trauma and residual effects that started in the slave castles.
